I have a husband, a toddler, a fetus, two dogs, and a fish.
I love rock climbing.
I never have time to go rock climbing.

There is a place about an hour east of Dallas between Terrell and Wills Point called Ham’s Orchard. They have fantastic peaches and even better peach icecream. We went today just before closing and little Monkey got her first taste of homemade peach soft serve. Needless to say, it was a hit. Grampa (”Bop-pa”) was by far the favorite of the day because he got a BIG ice cream that Monkey got to share.
Grampa’s favorite new thing is “Rub Noses” – like an eskimo kiss. About 75% of the time, Monkey decides she’s in a good enough mood to actually do it. Apparently, the ice cream put her in a pretty good mood.

Well, it looks like this weekend is starting out well for me! Happy 4th of July everyone!
My promo cards are done, my DBA is filed, my tax forms are in, and I am officially ready to start business come Monday morning. I’m so excited to be in this new place! I was driving through downtown in an area not far from where I live and I found so many spots for a cool urban shoot! I can’t wait to try it out on my unsuspecting daughter and hubby.
My new cell phone number is (214) 797-3217, so you can call or text me there. I’m currently working on finalizing more print package information for this new market, and I will be available to begin scheduling sessions Monday morning!
And on a completely unrelated note…my daughter is a ham.

I am leaving my current cell phone provider and transferring service to a new one. It seems, however, my number cannot port for whatever reason, leaving me no option but to get another cell phone number. So if you’re trying to contact me by the number listed on a card you may have received…it’s not working! Stay tuned during the next week, and I will post both here, Twitter, and on my contact page when I am given my new cell phone number.
And because it’s just wrong and against the laws of nature to make a post on this blog without a picture…here ya go. One I didn’t take.
Me on the beach in Hawaii, chillin’ with a sea turtle. And don’t adjust your monitor. I am THAT sunburnt!

Catching up on previews! Here’s a first birthday shot at a park I’ll probably never see again (bye bye, Houston!)

Well, we finally made it! With a toddler and eight million pounds of luggage in tow we made it through three airports and four time zones to end up in Oahu where my best friend’s husband is stationed (though he’s overseas right now). I’ve been here two days and Ari’s finally stopped waking up raring to go at 4 am. We’ve visited beaches and traveled the most beautiful highways I’ve ever seen. We’ve seen where they blew up a campsite on Lost and even the tree where Kate found her buried treasure. We’re living in a house with two moms, two toddlers, a girl, a cat, four kittens, and a dog. I am having a blast and have decided that I *might* forget to come back home.
Here are some pictures from our recent trips to a park and to the beach. I edited them on a laptop so sorry if the color seems a bit off or if they are too dark. I’ll try my best to finish this post with a five week old kitten curling up on my keyboard. Yes, yes, I know. You hate me. Everyone does.

Well, it’s been a long hiatus! In the last month, we’ve been preparing for a new baby (due in October!), packing to move, and passing a nasty stomach flu back and forth between all of us. It’s been a long month! But my photo sabbatical is over. Today I got to shoot this charmer I’ve been shooting since she was four months old. She’s gotten SO big! We always have so much fun at our sessions…today, we decided it was bath time! I just love the color in these shots. Happy Sneak Peak, mama!

Little Monkey loves ketchup more than the stuff you’re supposed to put it on. Whenever she gets some, she just dips her finger in the ketchup, sticks it in her mouth, and giggles hilariously. Good girl. At least we’re developing a healthy respect for vegetables.
In honor of this new found excitement, I’m gonna write a book series. It’s going to be like the “Give a Mouse a Cookie” series, but instead it will be, “Give a Monkey Ketchup.” So what exactly does a monkey eating ketchup look like?
Apparently, this.

I have been photographing this little cutie since she was 4 months old. She’s grown so much! We went out to a local park and took pictures for Valentine’s Day. The ducks were fun…as was our first taste EVER of chocolate! Yum!

This is so adorable! I so remember those days…I also remember you had better clean the ketchup before it dries!
